Gestalt Therapy is a holistic and experiential form of psychotherapy that emphasises personal responsibility and focuses on the individual's experience in the present moment. This approach highlights the importance of understanding the context of your life and the interconnectedness of thoughts, feelings, and actions.

We will work together to explore your current thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.
- You will be encouraged to become more aware of your thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations in the present moment.
- Using creative and experiential techniques, such as role-playing and guided imagery, you will be guided to gain new insights and perspectives on your self, your situation, your thoughts, emotions and how they affect your present.
- Through dialogue you will be guided to have open and honest communication between you and your therapist to foster self-discovery and growth.

Techniques used in Gestalt Therapy
Empty Chair
This technique involves sitting across from an empty chair and imagining someone or a part of yourself that you want to communicate with in that chair. It helps in expressing and exploring emotions and thoughts that might be difficult to address directly with a person that has passed or is just not approachable or a condition.
Here and Now Focus
Gestalt Therapy emphasises being present in the moment. You will often be asked to focus on your current feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations, encouraging you to stay connected with your immediate experiences.
Experiential Exercises
These include activities such as role-playing, guided imagery, and creative arts. Experiential exercises help gain deeper insights and access emotions that might be hard to express verbally.
Body Awareness
Gestalt Therapy pays attention to the connection between the mind and body. We will encourage you to become aware of your physical sensations and how these relate to your emotions and thoughts.
Dialogue and Self-Dialogue
Engaging in dialogues with different parts of oneself or with imagined figures can help you explore internal conflicts, unresolved issues, and different aspects of your identity.
Unfinished Business
This technique addresses unresolved issues from the past. We will help you identify and process these lingering emotions and experiences to achieve closure and move forward.
